Note for recreational divers

Although designed as a backup lamp for cave divers, its high light output makes it suitable as a primary lamp. It uses "Baby C" batteries, which are globally available and offer long runtime. Advantages:

• No need for charging or maintenance.
• One set of batteries often lasts for the entire trip.
• No issues with luggage checks at the airport.

No control electronics

Omitting control electronics increases reliability and runtime. The lamp remains functional even with weaker batteries by reducing battery load, unlike lamps with control electronics.

Heat feedback to batteries

LED heat is used to warm the batteries, increasing their capacity at low temperatures, extending runtime, and slowing performance decline.

• Never shine the light directly or indirectly (with or without aids) into the eyes of humans or animals.

• The batteries must always be removed for transport. If the lamp is well-insulated in luggage, there is a risk of overheating if it turns on accidentally.
• Using the LED burner in lamps without adequate cooling may lead to overheating.
• Despite the high reliability of LED lamps, it is possible for an LED to fail. This possibility must be considered when planning redundancy.
• Turn on each lamp once before every dive.
• Batteries are more reliable than rechargeable batteries.
• When using new batteries, measure their open-circuit voltage (unloaded operation) to an accuracy of 0.01V. Write down this voltage on each battery. Measure the voltage again before any demanding dive. If a battery has discharged by more than 0.03V, replace the entire set.
• Do not use batteries older than 1 year for demanding dives.
• Purchase batteries from suppliers with high turnover to ensure short storage times.
• Only use battery types with reliability that you are familiar with.
• If the lamp is not used for an extended period, please remove the batteries as they may leak.
• If the lamp becomes fully flooded during a dive, be very careful when opening it, as it may be under high pressure.
